Last night’s tour of Durham, the “Dark and Mysterious Ghost Walk” was great. Don’t go expecting an episode of Ghost Hunters, or hokey staged nonsense of someone jumping out at you in a dark alley. Instead, go and hear Maxine – who is a superb story teller – share some truly creepy tales of unexplained visitations in old hotels, double hauntings by victim and murderer in old warehouses, and sadly sweet tales of ghosts still looking for lost lovers or guarding the places and people they loved. You will walk much of downtown Durham, both the bright shiny new one and the older, darker historical areas. You will discover things you never knew about the city. And Maxine will keep you spellbound. I heartily recommend this tour to anyone who values the art of story telling, and the tug of history.
